ESY Pay and 25-26 School Year Pay Schedule Update
Subject: Update on Payroll Changes – Union Action in Progress
Dear
Members,
I want
to make you aware of an unannounced payroll change that impacts all of
us.
-
The last check for summer school will be
issued on Thursday, 8/29.
-
The first check of the new school year
will not follow the usual practice of a half check on 9/5 and
another on 9/12.
-
Instead, a full check will be issued on
9/12, which means pay is being delayed by two weeks compared to
previous years.
An
internal payroll email dated 8/5 directed building clerks to notify
staff of these changes, but no official memo or communication was ever
given to members.
Your union has already sent a
formal notice to the District
asking:
-
An explanation for the change.
-
A written commitment that future payroll
changes will be communicated in advance.
-
Restoration of prior payroll practices
where possible.
We
understand the hardship this delay creates and are treating this matter
as a priority. We will keep you updated on the District’s response and
next steps.
